Your wine character
This is one of the nine Caractère wine characters.
Dramatic
At full volume
Nick Cave is playing louder than he needs to. The trip promises very little sleep. At the cinema, you're waiting for the moment when everything is finally decided. Your answers show an appetite for powerful experiences: once a story has you, you want to see it all the way through.
Your wine character is Dramatic. This wine will make itself known at the table. It belongs to an evening when there’s something to say, something to celebrate, or a decision you’re finally ready to make.
A Portuguese example
Touriga Nacional · Douro
Look for a concentrated, structured Touriga Nacional from the Douro. Dark fruit, floral aromas and firm tannins give it plenty of presence. We'd choose a bold dry red for Dramatic — the sort of wine that becomes part of the conversation.
