Mysterious
Not all at once
Two people on a balcony, unfamiliar music, a path to a solitary lighthouse. You want to know what comes next. You'll stay with a puzzling film without demanding an explanation for every scene. Some things become more appealing precisely because you haven't worked them out yet.
Your wine character is Mysterious. This is a wine you want to return to throughout the evening: to see what's changed, to notice another detail. You may never quite figure it out. You're fine with that.
A Portuguese example
Ramisco · Colares, Lisboa
Look for a Ramisco from Colares with some bottle age. It comes from vineyards rooted in coastal sand; its firm tannins and fresh acidity reward patience. We'd choose an older bottle for Mysterious, and give it time in the glass.
